How To Create a Remote Login Shortcut For Respax(RDP)

WindowsXP service pack 3, Vista service pack 1, Windows 7 (RDP version 6.1 installed)

The following sections assume that you log into a server called rh1.respax.com.au. There are other servers as well with a different name and domain. Follow the instructions sent by support to your company for exact computer names, usernames, passwords and domain names.

Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Remote Desktop Connection to start RDP. (This could be somewhere else depending on your Windows version...)

If you can not find it, follow the following two screens to do the same...

This screen is what should open:

Click on Options to show more details.

If you have been provided a Domain Name with your login details, as example: RESPAX-DOMAIN, prefix you username in the next screen with that. So it will read: RESPAX-DOMAIN\Tertius

Make sure you tick "Allow me to save credentials."

On the General tab click on Save As and save the shortcut on you desktop and call Respax 1.rdp or what ever the number is in the username. (Double click on this shortcut in the future to login Respax. NOT NOW.)

Click "Connect" and follow the following screens...

If you have been provided a Domain Name with your login details, as example: RESPAX-DOMAIN, prefix you username in the next screen with that. So it will read: RESPAX-DOMAIN\Tertius

Make sure you tick "Remember my password."

Tick "Don't ask me again..."

Click "Connect".

The following section just shows what the other tabs should look like:

Follow the next few screens and make sure the same boxes are ticked etc.

Click on "More"
