Adding Local Product Prices
Index
Overview
In TourDesk, administrators are able to override and set the price for each tour provided by the operators. With this feature, agents are able to set tours with specified bases and subbases, if needed, and even times to desired prices and charge passengers accordingly without converting bookings to free form.
Please Note: Changing the prices charged to passengers does not change how much operators charge in ResPax.
Adding a Product Price
To access the Product Prices section, click Manage Products in the main menu and go to the Prices tab...
This tab shows all the currently customised prices for TourDesk for the company...
Click Add New...
In this section, prices can be set by choosing the criteria TourDesk will use to filter out which Operator, Tour, Pax Type, Basis, Time, Date Range or Branch will have a customised price.
Please Note: None of these fields are required to be set other than Amount. If no criteria is set with a price, TourDesk will automatically set the specified price for ALL operators and tours. This is also considered the highest priority rating. For more information, please refer Price Ratings
When the criteria and pricing have been set, click Save Changes. TourDesk will now set this price for the specified tour/tours...
Price Ratings
Price Ratings are what TourDesk uses to prioritise each price set locally. Each criteria sets how much more priority a price gets over another price of similar priority.
Each criteria has a rating number set to it which shows as follows:
Criteria |
Rating Number |
Operator Name |
1 |
Pax Type |
32 |
Product Code |
2 |
Fare Basis |
24 |
Departure |
4 |
Date Range |
64 |
Branch |
128 |
Currency |
256 |
When each criteria is specified, the Rating Numbers of the Criteria are added together which, when saving the product price, will give you the Price Rating. The order of priority is set by the highest to lowest Price Rating.
Please Note: Currencies are very significant to the product pricing table. If booking a tour with a currency not specified by the local product pricing, TourDesk will automatically go to the Base Currency and convert it to the Desired Currency. If the Base Currency is set by a local price, TourDesk will convert that price rather than the price set by ResPax operators.
In an example, Price No.1 is set that only the Operator is set with a Price, making every tour under that operator set to that price.
Price No.1 - Operator Name + Currency = 257 Price Rating
Price No.2 is set with the same Operator but also has the criteria of Product Code being Tour No.1 with a Price.
Price No.2 - Operator + Product Code + Currency = 259 Price Rating
Price No.2 would take priority over Price No.1. Tour No.1 would be set as Price No.2's price rather than Price No.1's. This is because Price No.2 had more criteria set which gave it a higher Price Rating.
If a user is unsure what a product's price rating is, the rating is always shown under the Price tab...
Deleting a Product Price
In Manage Products under the Price tab...
Select the price that is to be deleted and click on it...
Click Delete and TourDesk will remove the local product price and restore the original pricing provided by the ResPax operator...
