This how-to explains how to set up an accommodation model tour.

Set up accommodation

1. Click on the "Setup Product" tab and click "Add New Product" to start the wizard. Create a tour code and description. Click "Next" (The tour code can only be alphanumerical.)

2. Select "Accommodation" and click "Next"

3. Click on "Finish"

4. The normal Tour Maintenance for Accommodation screen opens.

5. Select the operator for the tour. To create new operators, follow this link: Managing Operators

6. Select if the tour is enabled and if it should be web enabled. Click "Save Changes" To use the wizard, click on "Setup Wizard"

Using the wizard

7. Click on "Add New" if a new basis needs to be created. Fill in the Basis description and tick if it will be the default basis. Click "Save".

8. Click on "Add New" if a new sub basis needs to be created. Fill in the Subbasis name and Type label. Select the accommodation model - pricing either per pax or per room. Set the max levels. If you have mandatory duration of nights or rooms set them, otherwise leave them blank for auto calculation at booking time.

The price model radio button will auto select the model for the selected basis & subbasis.

Create a Fare Structure and set prices

Respax provides a mechanism to create different fares based on the selection of 4 options: 1. The tour 2. The basis 3. The sub-basis 4. The passenger type

This section demonstrates how to set it up.


Click on "Set Price Range"

Click on "Add/Edit Basis"

Click on "Add New Basis"

Add a new basis and "Save"

Double click on the basis you just created to continue with the set-up.

Double click on the "standard" subbasis provided or click on "Add New Subbasis" to create a new subbasis.

If selling the accommodation per room/unit etc. use the "room" model. Set the max levels. If you have mandatory duration of nights or rooms set them, otherwise leave them blank for auto calculation at booking time.

If selling the accommodation per passenger/bed etc. use the "pax" model. Set the max levels. If you have mandatory duration of nights or rooms set them, otherwise leave them blank for auto calculation at booking time.

Setting Prices

After a fare structure has been set up, prices can be set.

Click on "Set Price Range". Fill in all details - if the model is per room, fill in the threshold sell value as well. This means: how much do you charge when you have maximum occupancy in the room/unit/etc?
