Index
Overview
This multi-lingual package is a 4 Day 1 Night Learn to Dive course that includes two days in the training pool at the dive center, transfers to the accommodation vessel which spends the night on the Great Barrier reef, then transfers back to Cairns the following day. Two bus routes are connected and passengers also have the options of no pickups or to be advised.
Prices are attached to the top level of the package and availability is attached to underlying components. Top level package and all of its components are web-enabled.

Please Note: This page has been designed with the assumption that you have a basic knowledge and understanding of ResPax and setting up tours. If you do not understand, please visit the Tutorials Section
Step 1 - Setting Up The Top Level Package
Please Note: All tour codes and names mentioned are logic based and do not affect how the tour is designed. If you wish to customise this tour with your own codes and descriptions, please change the tour codes and names where applicable.
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Day Tour
Type 4D1N in the Tour Code field
Type 4 Day 1 Night Learn to Dive in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Click on Schedule -> Add New and enter 09:00, double click on Default to set this time as the default time.
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click on Close and then Save to save this day tour.
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes. Now the rest of the information for the day tour can be entered.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Select a Tour Category if appropriate.
Select the Financial Entity.
Leave the Operator Notification as None
Leave the Price Matrix Type as Pax, Basis and SubBasis.
Click on the Advanced tab and tick Allow multiple pax, Can have Components, Disable Availability Check and Ticketable.
Leave Use New Price Matrix as enabled.
Save the tour and re-enter.
Click on Price Matrix -> Edit Basis -> Standard and rename the Basis to Sole Occupancy Twin. Tick Default and double click Web Enabled. Leave Enabled as ticked
Click on the SubBasis Standard and rename it to English
Leave Enabled and Default as ticked and click OK.
Create a new SubBasis by clicking Add New and name it Japanese
Click Ok to save the SubBasis
Click Ok to exit the Basis screen
Add a new Basis named Double
Leave Enabled as ticked and double click Web Enabled to enable the Basis for Web Bookings.
Create two new SubBasis exactly like the previous with the names, English and Japanese with English set to Default.
Click OK out of the Price Basis screen and click on Set Range
Set the Date Range and Days for this price.
Enter the Cost and Sell and Levy.
Select the Currency, Type, Basis and Sub Basis and click Ok.
Please Note: Depending on how many prices that need to entered, two options are available for use. Manually entering the prices into the Price Matrix or the Copy Price Tool. Refer to Copy Price Tool HowTo
Close the Price Matrix screen and Save once all the prices have been entered.
This is all that can be done to the top level package until Step 2 - Adding the Components and Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes have been completed.
Step 2 - Adding the Components
Four components need to be created for use in this package:
This example will create them one by one and then link them to the top level package once all the components have been created.
1. Pool Lessons
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Day Tour
Type POOL in the Tour Code field
Type Pool Lessons and Theory in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Click on Schedule -> Add New and enter 09:00, double click on Default to set this time as the default time.
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click on Close and then Save to save this day tour.
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes. Now the rest of the information for the day tour can be entered.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Select a Tour Category if appropriate.
Select the Financial Entity.
Leave the Operator Notification as None
Leave the Price Matrix Type as Pax, Basis and SubBasis.
Click on the Advanced tab and tick Component Only and Disable Availability Check.
Leave Use New Price Matrix as enabled.
Click on Price Matrix -> Edit Basis -> Standard and rename the Basis to Pool and Theory. Tick Default and double click Web Enabled. Leave Enabled as ticked
Click on the SubBasis Standard and rename it to Day 1
Leave Enabled and Default as ticked and click OK.
Create a new SubBasis by clicking Add New and name it Day 2
Click Ok
Save the tour.
This is all that can be done with this component until Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes has been completed.
2. The resources for the divers going out on the reef
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Day Tour
Type DIVERSV1 in the Tour Code field
Type Vessel 1 Divers in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Click on Schedule -> Add New and enter 09:00, double click on Default to set this time as the default time.
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click on Close and then Save to save this day tour.
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes. Now the rest of the information for the day tour can be entered.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Tick Show in Availability
Click on the Resource/Price Settings tab and enter 55 in the Default Max Pax field.
Save the tour and re-enter.
Click on Resources
Select the date range that the resources will be added to.
Click on Set Range
Select 09:00 under the Time drop down box, and set the Max Pax to 55.
Click Set Range, a message will appear Range has been set!. Click Ok and Close.
Click Close and then Save the tour.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Click on Price Matrix -> Edit Basis -> Standard and rename the Basis to V1 Diving. Tick Default. Leave Enabled as ticked
Click on the SubBasis Standard and rename it to Day 1
Leave Enabled and Default as ticked and click OK.
Create a new SubBasis by clicking Add New and name it Day 2
Click Ok
Create four more SubBases with the names, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 and Day Tour
By creating these SubBases, the top level package will now have the option of choosing which day the Divers will go out to the reef and dive. This gives more flexibility.
This is all that can be done with this component until Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes has been completed.
3. The resources for all vessels
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Day Tour
Type VESSELR in the Tour Code field
Type Vessel Resources Only in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Click on Schedule -> Add New and enter 09:00, double click on Default to set this time as the default time.
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click on Close and then Save to save this day tour.
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes. Now the rest of the information for the day tour can be entered.
Click on the Advanced tab and tick Disable Availability Check.
Leave Use New Price Matrix as enabled.
Click on the Resource/Price Settings tab and enter 999 in the Default Max Pax field.
Save the tour.
This is all that can be done with this component until Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes has been completed.
4. The accommodation the pax recieves on the reef
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Accom
Type ACCOM in the Tour Code field
Type Accommodation in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Tick Show in Availability
Select a Tour Category if appropriate.
Select the Financial Entity.
Leave the Operator Notification as None
Leave the Price Matrix Type as Pax, Basis and SubBasis.
Click on the Advanced tab and tick Use New Price Matrix, Availability Check on change and Ticketable.
Click on the Resource/Price Settings tab and enter 48 in the Default Max Pax field.
Save the tour
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Click on Price Matrix -> Edit Basis -> Standard, leave Default as ticked and double click Web Enabled. Leave Enabled as ticked
Click on the SubBasis Standard and rename it to Double
Type 2 in the Pax per Room field
Leave Enabled and Default as ticked and click OK.
Create a new SubBasis by clicking Add New and name it Twinshare Bed
Type 1 in the Pax per Room field
Click Ok
The SubBases in this accommodation code are not used as rooms but are designed for bed count. By setting the Double SubBasis to 2, it means that only two passengers can sleep in the Double room which only has 1 bed big enough for two but by setting Twinshare Bed to 1, it means that in a Twin Room with two Twinshare beds, one passenger can sleep in each bed.
Click Ok and close the Price Matrix screen.
Click on Resources
Select the date range that you wish to add resources.
Click on Set Range
Select 09:00 under the Time drop down box, and set the Max Pax to 55.
Click Set Range, a message will appear Range has been set!. Click Ok and Close.
Continue setting the availability for each type of room on the vessel until completed.
Close the Resources section.
Save the tour.
This is all that can be done with this component until Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes has been completed.
Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes
When creating bus routes, there is no need to create individual bus routes for each components. One bus route can be assigned to multiple components and packages. This step will show how to create a few example bus routes and will also show the structure in how the bus routes are connected to the components/package.

Creating a Bus Route
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Route
Type BUSTBA in the Tour Code field
Type To Be Advised Pickups in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Select a Tour Category if appropriate.
Select the Financial Entity.
Leave the Operator Notification as None
Leave the Price Matrix Type to Pax Only.
Click on the Advanced tab and tick Disable Availability Check.
Leave Use New Price Matrix as enabled.
Click on Schedule -> Add New and enter 07:45, double click on Default to set this time as the default time.
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click on Close and then Save to save this day tour.
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Click on Route Areas - > Edit Locations
If these locations are already present, there is no need to enter duplicates.
Click Add New and type TBA (Vessel 1) in the Location Name field.
Click Save and one more location with the name TBA (Pool & Theory)
Once created, close the Locations screen and in Bus Route Configuration and click New Stop
Type TBA STOPS in the Stop Description field and click Save Changes
Click New Stop and type TBA SCHOOLS in the Stop Description and change the Pickup Increment(Minutes) to 75.
Save the stop.
Find TBA (Vessel 1) and drag the location into TBA STOPS.
Find TBA (Pool & Theory) and drag the location into TBA SCHOOLS.
Click Done and Save the route.

Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours -> New Route
Type VESSEL1 in the Tour Code field
Type Vessel 1 in the Name field
Select the Operator.
Select a Tour Category if appropriate.

Leave the Operator Notification as None
Change the Price Matrix Type to Pax Only.
Click on Schedule -> Add New and enter 09:00, double click on Default to set this time as the default time.
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click Add New and enter 15:00
Leave the Enable option as ticked and click OK to save the schedule.
Click on Close
Click on the Resource/Price Settings tab and enter 80 in the Default Max Pax field .
Tick Enable Default Pax per type and enter Inf in the Default Pax Caption(Max 3 char)
Save to save this day tour.
ResPax will now go off and prefill a number of tables behind the scenes.
Find the Day Tour in the list and click once to open.
Tick Show in Availability.
Click on Route Areas - > Edit Locations
If these locations are already present, there is no need to enter duplicates.
Click Add New and type Vessel 1 Pax in the Location Name field.
Once created, close the Locations screen and in Bus Route Configuration and click New Stop
Type VESSEL PAX in the Stop Description field and click Save Changes
Find Vessel 1 Pax and drag the location into VESSEL PAX.
Click Done and Save the route.

Step 4 - Combining the Components and Bus Routes to the Top Level Package
Connecting Bus Routes
When connecting bus routes to both top level package and components, the procedure is the same with the only variance being the different bus routes. This example will show how to connect bus routes to the top level package. For the bus route structure of each component and tour, please see Step 3 - Adding Bus Routes
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours
Find the top level package, 4D1N - 4 Day 1 Night Learn to Dive
Click on Routes and drag across BUSNB, BUSCITY, BUSTBA and BUSNP
Click Save Changes and Save the Day Tour.
ResPax will now go through and connect the bus routes, locations and stops to this tour.
Connecting Components/Creating Packages
When connecting components to the top level package, this is creating the package sets in which the tour will be sold by. This example will create two example package sets with the previously created components.
Double Package
The Double Package is used for couples travelling together and staying in a Double room.
Maintenance tab -> Edit/Add Tours
Find the top level package, 4D1N - 4 Day 1 Night Learn to Dive
Click on Components -> Add New
Type in the Description field, Double.
Select Double under the Basis field and tick the box next to the field.
Click Ok
Select the component just created and click Add Day Tour

The Sole Occupancy Twin Package is used for a single travelling passenger that would like a room of their own in a Twinshare room.

Click on Components -> Add New
Type in the Description field, Sole Occupancy Twin.
Select Sole Occupancy Twin under the Basis field and tick the box next to the field.
Click Ok

Two ACCOM components are created in the package set identical to the other. These two accommodation codes hold the availability for the amount of beds available on board the vessel. The reason for taking up two beds in availability is that, when sold, the passenger is taking up an entire twinshare room to him/herself which has two beds.

Step 5 - Testing the Package
The best way to test a package is to make bookings and check that the booking can go through without any problems and that certain components default to the correct packages.
Reservations -> New Booking
When creating the booking, it should look similar to this...
