Creating Bus Routes and Adding Bus Pickups
Index
Overview
Products may require the customer to be picked up and returned to his/her accommodation. In this tutorial we will create a bus route and a pick-up/drop off for the Tutorial Experience tour that we created earlier. We will not limit the availability on the route as the Tutorial Experience holds the availability of maximum 30 pax. We assume we have enough buses or a big enough bus.
Creating a Bus Route
In Maintenance -> Edit/Add Tours
Click on Tour Setup Wizard
Fill in the Tour Code, we will call it TUTBUS. Name = Tutorial Bus, Operator = Test Organisation and Owner = Test Organisation. Click on Next.
Select the tour type Pickup and click on Next.
Enter in the Departure Time: as 09:00. Click on the Default tick box and the Enabled tick box. Click on Next.
Click on Finish to exit.
Find TUTBUS and select the Advanced tab and make sure the only boxes ticked are Use New Price Matrix and Disable Availability Check
Creating a Pickup
Click on Locations and then Edit Locations. Once the window has opened, click on Add New.
We will create two hotel pickups. Fill in as much or little on the screen. A location name is required, in this case let us call the first one Hotel 1. To add cities or suburbs, click on the Edit/Add button. Once the window has opened, click on Add New.
Again fill in as much or little information as required. Click on Save/Exit to return to the Suburb screen that can be closed by clicking on the X.
This will return to the pickup screen where the city/suburb can now be selected and click on Save to add the location.
Click on the General tab. Click on Save Changes to save and close the tour maintenance screen. Go through the same process and add another location called Hotel 2. We will use that in the following section.
Adding a Pickup to a Route
Click on Locations and select the 09:00 Route Start Time and click on New Stop
Let us call the first stop STOP1 and we make the Pickup increment and Dropoff increment both 0 minutes. This means the pick-up and drop off time has no offset to the selected route start/dropoff time.
Create another stop by clicking on New Stop. Call it STOP2 and make the Pickup increment and Dropoff increment both 10 minutes. This means the pick-up and drop off time has a 10 minute offset to the selected route time. Save Changes
Let us assume the pick-up time for Hotel1 is 09:00. Select the 09:00 time and drag and drop Hotel 1 onto STOP1. The pick-up time for Hotel 2 will be 09:10, so drag and drop it onto STOP2.
Select the 17:00 route time. Tick View as Dropoff. Note the Drop off times are shown with the drop off increments entered before.
Click on the General tab and click on Save changes.
