Making a booking with a pickup

Index

Make the booking

Example:

Mr John Smith would like to book two adults under his name on the 20th November2010 and will pay the fee on board. The reservationist is part of the Tutorial Agent company and the reference will be TA1234.

Booking:

Reservations -> New Booking...

Under Agent type in the agency booking the tour which is TUTAGE - Tutorial Agency...

Or select Tutorial Agency by pressing F2 and choosing from the list...

In Ref, enter the Reference which is TA1234...

In the Date field, enter 20/11/2010 which is the date Mr Smith would like to travel...

Type TUTEXP in the Code field or select the tour from the list by pressing F2...

As there are two adults travelling on the tour, enter 2 in the Ad field...

Move through the Basis and Type with Standard selected for both and more options will appear...

In Pax Name, type John Smith...

In the Pickup field start typing Hotel - just the h. Notice the field change to the first H in the pick-up list, in this case Hotel 1. Use the up and down arrows to scroll through the list. The more letters typed - the closer the match.

To open a drop down pick-up list, press F2 on the keyboard and select Hotel 1 and click Done

The default payment type for Tutorial Agent is taking the full amount from the passengers before travel and nothing else would need to be paid for on the travel date, as shown below...

Mr Smith would like to pay on board the full amount of the tour. Therefore, the Agent payment line must be removed and replaced with POB (Pay On Board). This can be done three ways in ResPax.

Change the Collect By selection to POB, change Type to On Account, click Get Total and then click Save Changes/Exit...

All the information has been entered into the new booking form. Click Commit to confirm the booking...

ResPax will now display the Confirmation screen where users can double check all the information is correct...

Click Done...

The booking has been created.
