Overview
This HowTo document is designed to show you how to create and maintain tour categories.
Tour Maintenance
Tour categories can be accessed from within any tour in the maintenance screen.
Select Maintenance - Edit/Add Tours - double click on any tour ..
Click on Web Details...
Click on the Web Categories tab...
The left hand pane will contain the web categories and the right hand pane contains the list of tours that can be added to any category to display on the web. Tours can be included in multiple categories concurrently.
Right click on the category tree start at the top left hand side of the left hand pane...
Click on Add Category to add a new category to the tree .. this will open the Edit Category screen where you can add the details of the new category .. add the following details ..
- Category Order – suggest using 10,20,30 etc to allow insertion of new categories later
- Category Name
- Short Description or category
- Long Description of category
Click on Add Picture to add a picture to display against the category...
Browse for the picture, select and open...
Click on Save & Exit to save your changes .. the new category will be displayed on the left hand categories pane...
To add sub-categories under a category right click on the category where the sub-categories are to go and follow the same procedure filling in all the details. The left hand pane will display the category tree...
Once all the sub-categories are in the category tree add tours to the categories by clicking and dragging tours from the right hand pane onto the sub-category in the left hand pane...
A tour code can exist in any number of categories...
Click on Save Changes to get back to the Tour maintenance screen. To edit the web categories click on Edit Webpage button in any tour maintenance screen and then click on the Web Categories tab...
The category tree on the left hand panel will initially be displayed in a contracted view. To display the category tree click on the + beside the category to expand...
Click on the + beside a sub category to expand the view...
To remove a tour code from the category click on the tourcode, then right click...
Click the Delete Item button...
To delete a category INCLUDING all it’s tours click on the category to be deleted, right click and select Delete Item...
Click OK to the warning...
.. and this will delete the category and it’s tours.
Save Changes to return to Tour Maintenance.

The categories edited in ResPax will look like the following pictures in the default global terrain on NetWizard ..
- No categories...
- One top level category...
- Two sub categories...
- Three tours under a sub category...
- Deleted a sub category...
