Create a HoHo Sector
Index
Overview
This page will demonstrate how to create a day tour specific to Hop On Hop Off touring.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The codes need to be STRICTLY FORMATTED to describe:
THREAD NUMBER (1 = Thread No 1)
DIRECTION OF TRAVEL (S = South)
SECTOR FROM/TO (10 = the first sector)
For example, the bus sector for sector 1 of the Town1 to Town17 thread has 16 sectors that will be named following the example below:

Create HoHo Sector
Click on the Maintenance menu
Click on the Edit/Add Tours sub menu
The tour list-view allows quick searching for passes, sectors, accommodations and day tours. Text typed into the Search field reduced the list accordingly.
Confirm that the sector code is not already in use
Click on Tour Setup Wizard button.
Type in the Code and Name for the sector.
In Operator, select the tour operator who operates this sector.
In Owner, check that the Financial Owner is the owner of the sector. Click Next.
Choose the Tour Type and click Next.
Add a new schedule time and make it the default and click Next.
Note: The schedule is usually the time of the first pickup in this sector
At this point click on Finish to allow Respax to pre-fill all the other tables it uses.
Search for the hoho sector and edit it again as follows.
Click on the General tab to set:
Set the Price Matrix Type to None
Click on the Advanced tab to set:
TICK Component Only
This setting will prevent the sector from being booked at pass level inadvertently.
TICK Availability Check On Change
This is a special feature that must be set for sectors to ensure the itinerary editor function efficiently.
TICK Can be waitlisted (if waitlisting on sectors is to be enabled).
This will allow the booking to commit with sectors that have no availability on them – this then makes use of the autopromote feature that will automatically put waitlisted pax on the bus if space becomes available.
Click on the Resource/Price Settings tab to check:
Default Max Pax is set to 0
Max Pax needs to be set to 0 as all control of the bus sector availability is set using resources in the Trip Manifest rostering section – see Resources).
UNTICK Infant not included in Availability
This needs to be unticked IF infants DO take a seat on the bus.
Click on the Routes tab to activate the appropriate sector pickup list to the bus sector.
(Before doing this section the pickup lists needs to be created following the instruction in Create Sector Pickup List link).
Once created , click and drag the route onto the sector pickup time and ensure that the pickup list is the default (which is set by Respax as a default normally).
