Using Ticket Ref (TREF)
Index
Overview
This HowTo document is designed to show the steps to enable the TRef field in the main booking screen and use this field for recording preissued ticket numbers that have been issued against specific agent codes.
Setting A Ticket Range For An Agent
Before you start entering ticket numbers in the TRef field in bookings, you need to enable the agent to be a Ticket Issuer and set a ticket range against the agent that is issuing them. To do this, you need to go to Maintenance - Edit/Add Organisations and edit the agent.
Click on the Agent Spec tab...
Enable the agent by checking the Ticket Issuer box
Once you have enabled Ticket Issuer, the Ticket Seq tab becomes available where the ranges of ticket numbers are set.
In the tab, there are two options that can be selected to control the functionality of checking the data that is entered into the TRef field in the booking:
Check for duplicate Ticket sequences - The data entered in the TRef field in the booking will be checked against every other booking for the same agent for duplicates to make sure this ticket number has not already been used.
Check Ticket range when booking - The data entered in the TRef field in the booking is checked against the ticket sequence range entered against the agent to make sure that the number and date range are valid.
To set a range of tickets, click on Add Sequence
As illustrated below, enter the ticket range of numbers on the top row (from lowest to highest), the from/to date validity of this range in the middle row and the issue date will show in the last row, set to today as default. Comments can be entered in the comment box.
Click Save and the range will display on the field in the Ticket Seq tab.
Click Save again and then refresh the Organisations page.
The ticket range is now ready to be entered into bookings.
Entering Ticket Numbers Into Bookings
Once the ticket range is set, bookings can be populated with ticket numbers. To do this, make a new booking or open an existing booking and go to the Pax tab.
Enter the ticket number into the TRef section and tab out of the TRef field. If either or both of the validation options are set in Maintenance then the number entered will be checked for duplicates and/or range validity.
If the ticket number is a duplicate the following error will be displayed ..
If the ticket number is outside of the valid range the following error will be displayed ..
