Overview

This HowTo document is designed to show the Till features that have been added to the payment screen.

Create Change Payment Line

A Create Change feature has been added to ResPax to make it more suitable for use as a till. It has been planned that money will be taken from pax at the counter with the booking open to take credit card payments directly through the booking over the internet, as well as take money and calculate the value of change to be issued.

All payment lines in ResPax MUST equal the Pax Total value or the booking will not commit.

Continue with the booking above as an example of how a booking may look when the pax comes to the counter for a ticket.

In this example the default payment lines for this agent Abel Tasman Tours is a deposit only agent and so the payment lines were set by default (using the Default payment button, to be Agent On Account $commission and the balance to be collected POB (Pay On Board) $balance.

The pax should hand a voucher to the counter staff confirming that this is correct.

The balance to pay is $226.00. The pax hands over $250.00 in notes. This can then be entered in the booking by editing the POB payment line using the Create Change function which has been designed as a quick cash entry feature for cash till use.

Click on the POB line

The cursor goes immediately to the Payment Amount for the cash taken to be entered here. Enter 250 in the field.

Use the <F9> key to finish the payment or use the mouse to press the Create Change button.

ResPax then does the following things.

The booking can now be committed without any further modifications if all is ready for ticketing.
