Describe CoachMultidaytour here.

The following example describes the steps taken to fully plan and build a coach multi daytour.

A coach multi daytour 6 day tour runs on Wednesdays between May and October depending on road and weather conditions, departing on the Savannahlander Train at the Cairns Railway Station at 6.30am with accommodation pickups starting at 6.00am. The itinerary for each day is as follows ..

Day 1 (Wednesday) .. 06.30 hours all aboard the Savannahlander Train at the Cairns Railway Station, the train stops for morning tea at Mutchilba. Train contines to Almaden where it stops for lunch. After lunch the tour joins the tour vehicles and travels through Springfield Station to Mt Surprise, the first night's accommodation.

Day 2 (Thursday) .. breakfast at Mt Surprise, continue on the tour vehicles across the spectacular Newcaste Ranges to Georgetown for morning tea and a historical tour from the Info Centre. The tour vehicles continue to Croydon for lunch and a local tour. After lunch travel is West via Blackbull Siding on to the little Bynoe river, the site of Burke and Wills camp 119 where the tour stops for Afternoon Tea before continuing to Normanton for the next night's accommodation.

Day 3 (Friday) .. breakfast then travel through the Normanton Wetlands across the Great Carpentaria Basin to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria. Join the Karumba Ferry Man for a morning Bird Watch and Wildlife Cruise. After lunch, visit the Barramundi Farm and do a local tour of Karumba. The tour travels on to Karumba Point where for a relaxing couple of hours before the evening meal watching the sunset over the Gulf Of Carpentaria. Overnight accommodation is at Karumba.

Day 4 (Saturday) .. early breakfast, return to Normanton then all abourd the famous Gulflander Train to Critter's Camp. The train returns to the Eleven Mile Lagoon's for morning tea and damper. The tour vehicles continue to Croydon for lunch, after which a Local Savannah Guide leads a short walk Tour Of The Town talking about the Gold Rush Era of the past. The tour vehicles then continue to Cumberland's Chimney for a short stop then on to Georgetown for the next overnight accommodation.

Day 5 (Sunday) .. early breakfast then the tour vehicles travel to Forsayth then on to Cobbold Gorge. Enoy a full day exploring the magnificent Cobbold Gorge, walk along the Sandstone Massifs and enjoy a silent close in the electric powered boats on the still waters of the Gorge. Travel to Georgetown for overnight accommodation.

Day 6 (Monday) .. breakfast then travel across the Newcastle Range en route to the Undara Lava Tubes to visit one of nature's most extravagant creations. After lunch, travel back to Cairns via Forty Mile Scrub Nationa Park and the Southern Atherton Tablelands. Stop at Yungaburra at the Cottage for the final afternoon tea, then back to accommodations in Cairns.

In order to plan the tour structure it is necessary to define where availability exists throughout the tour, which inclusions are operated by outside operators (and therefore may need separate supplier manifest/availability/suppier invoice reconciliation), how many manifests are required to be given to who, what information is to be supplied to whom regarding everything from price/confirmation/voucher/itinerary/pickup time to the passenger/booking agent, as well as cost/notification/supplier manifest to the outside operators.

In this example the critical information supplied for the plan was that the accommodation pickups start at 06.00 hours and then the train leaves at 06.30 hours. The prices for Adults and Children were given, as well as a definition of the age of infants who travel free of charge. Infants take a seat on the coach even though they travel free so they must be included in the coach availability. There are a number outside operators defined in this example - trains, accommodations, guided walks and tours along the way. Items need to be included for both availability and notification, as well as possibly showing on a printed itinerary. Some items on the itinerary are out of pocket costs for the tour operator on the trip and therefore do not need to be included as components for availability or notification, but may still be needed for itineraries. For minimum maintenance it is advisable to set up the tour initially for manifesting an notification needs only, then add any other extras items for itineraries as and when necessary.

From this information it is now possible to fill in the tour structure using the format below.

All the component parts of this tour can now be created in Respax starting with the components (the building blocks that are put together to create the tour), then the routes and finally the tour that is the bookable product. A list of items to be created is shown below.

Once all the component parts have been created the top level tour can then have the components added to package sets underneath so that individual components will be brought into the booking whenever the top level tour is booked.

For this 6 day tour all the components are shared for all bookings except for the accommodation components where there is a choice of requesting Twin or Double accommodation.

The package sets can be planned as follows ..

All basis and subbasis will hold the following components

Twin package set will hold the following components

Double package set will hold the following components

Creating package sets .. EditAddTours

The components in a package set are pulled into the booking according to the basis and subbasis selected of the header tour code when the booking is made.

Package sets created with no basis or subbasis will always be pulled into the booking regardless of any other fare basis selected.

Package sets created with a basis but no subbasis will always be pulled into the booking when that basis is selected regardless of the subbasis chosen in the booking.

Package sets created with both a basis and subbasis will only be pulled into the booking when that specific combination of basis and subbasis is chosen in the booking.

In this example of the 6 day extended tour with accommodation, all the inclusions in the tour package except the accommodations are the same for all bookings. For minimum maintenance all componenents except accommodation can be put under the All Basis All Subbasis package set that has no basis or subbasis selected against it.

Accommodations in this example can be selected according to a Twin or Double room type preference so two extra package sets will be needed to bring in the Twin accommodations when the Twin fare type is selected in the booking or the Double accommodations when the Double fare type is selected in the booking.

Package set detail can be planned as follows ..
