Describe CoachDaytour here.

The following example describes the steps taken to fully plan and build a coach daytour.

A coach daytour runs on Sundays between February and December, departing City at 7.30am with accommodation pickups starting at 6.00am. The itinerary for the day is morning tea at the Cottage, a boat trip on the lake, back to the Cottage for lunch, travel to the Highest Town, join a return Steam Train journey from Highest Town to Highest Railway Station for afternoon tea, then returning via two other historic towns to City with a dropoff back at the accommodation. Prices are for adults and children with infants 1-4 years old going free. Availabiilty for the trip is the coach availability only. The inclusions (monring tea + lunch, boat, train + afternoon tea) are all prearranged with the numbers being notified to the outside operators a number of days in advance.

In order to plan the tour structure it is necessary to define where availability exists throughout the tour, which inclusions are operated by outside operators (and therefore may need separate supplier manifest/availability/suppier invoice reconciliation), how many manifests are required to be given to who, what information is to be supplied to whom regarding everything from price/confirmation/voucher/itinerary/pickup time to the passenger/booking agent, as well as cost/notification/supplier manifest to the outside operators.

In this example the critical information supplied for the plan was that the coach starts the pickups at 07.00 hours and then leaves for the daytrip at 07.30 hours (or as soon as all the passengers have been collected from their respective accommodations). The prices for Adults and Children were given, as well as a definition of the age of infants who travel free of charge. Infants take a seat on the coach even though they travel free so they must be included in the coach availability. There are 3 outside operators defined in this example - the Cottage providing morning tea and lunch, a boat company operating the boat trip on Lake Tinaroo and the railway company providing a train ride with afternoon tea included. All outside operators have agreed to hold an allotment of the coach capacity with a predefined release time for the daytour operator, TBT, which allows these components to be treated as a freesell.

From this information it is now possible to fill in the tour structure using the format below.

All the component parts of this tour can now be created in Respax starting with the components (the building blocks that are put together to create the tour), then the routes and finally the tour that is the bookable product. A list of items to be created is shown below.
